Michael ★★★★★

I expected a coffee-table book but it's actually a collection of Kuma's own essays, which suited me fine on a slow Sunday. His thinking on how a point, a line and a plane can open up a room genuinely changed how I look at buildings. The writing is philosophical without being showy.

Chloe ★★★★☆

The essays inside are dense but rewarding—Kuma’s writing really makes you rethink how buildings relate to their surroundings. I wish the book included more diagrams to break up the text, but the cover design and paper quality are lovely.
