A collection of sharp observations from one of design’s most unconventional minds.

In Musings of a Curious Aesthete, Leonard Koren reflects on beauty, imperfection, taste, criticism, and the peculiar habits of those who can’t help but notice the world differently. Part memoir, part philosophical sketchbook, the book reads like a series of intelligent provocations—small essays that invite slower looking, deeper questioning, and a more thoughtful relationship with the objects and ideas that surround us.

Avery ★★★★★

I devoured these essays on imperfection and taste in one sitting—Koren’s insights are sharp without being pretentious, and the compact hardcover feels great in the hand.

Henry ★★★★☆

Koren's take on taste and criticism made me rethink a few of my own assumptions, which is rare for a design book. I only wish the essays were a bit longer — some of them end just as they're getting good. Still, it's the kind of collection I'll keep on my desk and flip through again.
