My dad is not a talker, but the interview framework gave us a path so the conversation never stalled. The recording tips section was a nice bonus I didn't expect to use.
I used these cards with my grandmother over Thanksgiving and the questions got her talking about her childhood in ways I'd never heard before. The recording tips section helped me capture it all properly on my phone. Wish I'd had this deck years ago.
The interview framework in this deck kept our conversation from turning into the usual small talk — my mom actually opened up about her childhood for two hours straight. The recording tips section was a nice touch too, though I wish the cards were a bit sturdier for how often we're using them.
