The solid oak has a nice weight to it, so it doesn't slide around when I flip pages in a big art monograph. I leave it open on the sideboard between reads and it just looks like part of the room.

I've been propping cookbooks against a wall for years, so having this solid oak stand hold my heaviest one open at the right angle feels like a small luxury. The wood grain looks warm next to my kitchen shelves, and it doesn't slide when I flip pages with wet hands.
