I hid it between the pages of a notepad and handed it to my sister; her shriek when the wings started flapping was worth every second. The wind-up mechanism is simple enough for even a kid to work, and it stayed airborne longer than I expected for such a tiny thing.

The surprise factor is unreal—I tucked one into a coworker’s notebook and she shrieked when the wings started flapping open. Winding the wings takes just a few seconds, and the flutter is so lifelike it genuinely catches people off guard.

Andrew ★★★★★

My niece nearly dropped her phone when the butterfly fluttered out of the book she was reading—the wing-winding mechanism is surprisingly easy for even my clumsy fingers to handle. It’s a tiny, magical moment that makes the whole silly purchase completely worth it.
