Reality Hand Hooks by Harry Allen are inspired by the beauty of everyday objects. By casting natural forms, Allen thoughtfully reimagines objects and gives them new uses. Each object is chosen with care and often a comic sensibility. Here, casts of the designer’s hand provide a unique take on the idea of a shelf and hook. Includes wall mounting hardware.
The hand shape actually cradles my wide-brim hats without denting them, which my old peg rack always did. Cast metal feels substantial in the hand, and guests keep asking where I found them.
I hung one by the front door for my keys and it's become a little sculpture on the wall. The cast detail is lovely up close, way nicer than the plain metal hooks I've had before.
The hand shape is surprisingly detailed for something cast in resin, and it holds my heaviest tote without flexing. Mounted two in the hallway and they look more like little sculptures than hardware.
