Didn't expect to get so absorbed watching a scarab burrow and then get eaten by the thing it carved out. Flipping fast makes the motion blur into something almost eerie, slow and it's just satisfying. Kept it on my desk and now everyone who visits messes with it.
The flip animation is surprisingly smooth, and the way the earth-creature rises to swallow the scarab turns the whole cycle into something oddly poetic. I've flipped through it maybe twenty times already and still catch new details in the carved pages.
Watching the scarab literally eat its way through the paper and then become part of that earthy entity is such a clever, mesmerizing effect.
