Spent a whole evening fiddling with this thing before I finally got the walnut lid to slide. The trick is so simple you'll laugh once you see it, which is exactly the point. My wife thinks I'm nuts for enjoying a box this much.
My brother kept telling me these Kamei boxes are impossible, so I handed him this walnut one and he gave up in ten minutes. The trick is genuinely funny once you find it, more of a joke than a mechanism.
I spent a solid hour poking at the walnut grain before I noticed one panel slid just a hair differently than the rest. The humor is real — it practically mocks you the whole time you're wrong. Best puzzle I've bought in years.
