この花をモチーフにした分解パズルは、朝顔の形から着想を得ています。五角形の花が2つリベットで留められ、銀色のらせん状リングが両方の層に通されています。花を回転させ、リングを回すことで、ピースをさまざまな形に組み替えるのはとても簡単です。その動きは楽しく、満足感もあり、まるでフィジェットトイのようです。しかし、最終的な目標は、らせんを花から分離させること。これは実に難しい挑戦です。日本の秋山晶夫氏によるデザイン。日本のハナヤマ社製。
The two riveted petals and that silver helix ring feel sturdier than I expected for something so small. I keep it on my desk and fidget with the ring during calls, then actually try to solve it when I need a break.
Took me a solid ten minutes to work out how the two blooms separate, and I actually enjoyed that it wasn't obvious. The riveted petals have a nice brushed finish that catches light without being flashy, and the ring spins smoothly once it's free.
Wasn't sure how tricky this would be but the morning glory shape makes it harder than it looks, which I love. Rotating the silver helix ring to free both five-pointed blooms took me a solid ten minutes the first time. It's small enough to keep on my desk and I've already picked it up a dozen times t
