My sister's kid now points at the Hitchcock page and yells "birds!" every single time, which is honestly the best endorsement I can give. The illustrations are gorgeous and the film references go way deeper than I expected for a kids' book.

I was a bit worried the film references would go over my child's head, but the illustrations are engaging enough that we both enjoy spotting the ones we know. My only small gripe is that a few of the directors chosen are a little obscure for casual readers.

The artwork is gorgeous and my kid loves guessing the movies hidden in each letter, even if some references go way over their head. I just wish the pages were a bit sturdier for little hands, since we've already had to tape one corner. A fun pick for film-nerd parents.
